Have you heard? I can’t say I’m all too surprised after hearing the speculation — Come June 20th, Instagram is allegedly rolling out the capability to record and share short videos via its photo-sharing application. Whether Instagram video sharing will be an entirely different application, or if it’s integrated directly into the current application by means of a software update remains to be seen.
This move by Instagram (Facebook) appears to be a direct response to the growing popularity of Twitter’s Vine. Coincidentally, I’ve heard a plethora of people describe Vine as the “Instagram for videos.” I suppose with that sort of depiction buzzing around since January, Instagram saw an opportunity and is making a move. Call it a Vineagram.

Apple made some announcements today. Did you hear? The new iOS7 is here! I guess it doesn’t seem terribly different, but it sure does look cool.
Of course there are a few new features, but the main changes are in the user interface. The new iOS looks clean, colorful, and sharp. The real feedback will come when it is in the hands of the user. There always seems to be push back from changes in user interface… *cough* Facebook.
Doubtful it will revolutionize much as there weren’t many new Apps released… maybe they are saving that for the iPhone 5S? 6? Hmmm… Thoughts?

Smartphone penetration hit 50% in 2012. More and more, people are relying on mobile phones for their internet connection than a traditional in-home service. With phones becoming more affordable, this only adds fuel to the fire.

But, hey… I’m on-board. Will in-home internet service becoming the next in-home telephone service? Who has a land-line anymore, anyway?

Services like FreedomPop have offered a free (and paid) mobile hot-spot service for awhile but are beginning to dabble in the free wireless arena. I’m all about this. Who likes paying $100/month for a cell phone. Granted, I don’t know what I would do without it… its a sick addiction.

I wish I lived in Puerto Rico for many reasons… I have added this Hands-Free Whopper apparatus to my list.

To celebrate the chain’s fiftieth anniversary in Puerto Rico, Burger King gave fifty of its loyalty program members these brilliant hands-free Whopper holders that can be worn around the neck so their hands can be used for other tasks.  In Spanish, the beginning says: “In a world filled with multitasking, how can you use your hands to do daily activities and have the opportunity to enjoy a Whopper?” Ugh, so true… Glad they found a solution! Dreams do come true.

Did you know that 4 out of 10 yogurt consumers are men?

In a female-focused category, how do you break the mold? Make fun of the mold. At least, that’s what Powerful Yogurt did.

The protein-laden Powerful Yogurt, created a marketing campaign aimed at men with the tagline, “Find your inner abs.” Hilarious.

New York Magazine’s Hurricane Sandy cover - dated Nov. 12, 2012 - has just been named Cover of the Year by the American Society of Magazine Editors. Congratulations!
The photograph became an instant icon from devastation which left half of Manhattan in the dark.
